Description

This upright, compact lilac blooms later than others, extending the season with deep purple buds that reveal clusters of highly fragrant, lavender-blue flowers. Foliage is burgundy-tinged in fall. Hardy, yet performs in southern regions, with excellent powdery mildew resistance. Great for border accent or mass planting. Matures slowly reaching a height and width of 6-8 feet. A lilac with wonderful fragrance and good fall color that needs to be planted where it can be admired for three seasons of the year. The smaller-than-usual growth of this shrub makes it easy to place in the front of a border, or use as a low hedge along the drive or sidewalk. Deciduous.
