Alto pearl flossflower is a tender perennial that is widely used as a bedding plant in temperate zones. It has a dense, bushy habit and produces many tassel-like flowers of creamy white all season. This vigorous ornamental is easily grown from seed and performs best in sites with full sun and average soil. Where summers are hot, plants may flower best in part sun locations. Rarely bothered by deer, flossflower is best enjoyed in containers or mixed borders with other brightly colored, sun-loving ornamentals. Plants are evergreen in tropical and subtropical zones.
